Just 2 days ago I wrote a post on how the H-1B electronic registration officially closed and USCIS would notify registrants with selected registrations no later than March 31st.
This morning I received an email indicating there was action taken on a case in the myUSCIS account I used to register candidates this year.
I logged in and saw selections have already been made for the H-1B FY 2022 cap season! The account shows which candidates were selected and you can download the selection notice. Below is what the selection notice looks like:
As you can see, the Selection Notice contains the confirmation number, identifying information for the Petitioner and Beneficiary, and indicates whether the registration was selected in the regular cap or master's cap. Further, the selection notice indicates to which service center the H-1B cap petition needs to be filed. Last year selection notices only indicated filing locations for California Service Center and Vermont Service Center. After going through my selection notices it looks like they've expanded to all service centers (I saw Nebraska Service Center and Texas Service Center on many of my selection notices). Like last year, the period for filing an H-1B cap petition will be April 1, 2021 through June 30, 2021.
I also wanted to note that it is unknown at this time whether USCIS has finished updating the system with the lottery results, so it is possible that the myUSCIS account for registrants may be updated with additional selections throughout the weekend and until March 31st.
As a reminder, the H-1B attorneys at my firm will be holding Cap-Subject Information Sessions for employees beginning April 6, 2021. Each call is expected to last 30 minutes. If you are interested in attending one of these call sessions, please find the call-in information below:
